Watching the Gators this season..I was posed with one big question..what should be the expectations regarding WR Ju'Juan Story. Quinton Dunbar was to thought to be a down-the-field threat that the Gators had lost in Riley Cooper. Dunbar did not jump off the screen at me. I saw him bodied up by more physical corners in the SEC. Those corners are not going away in this league. Having said that, I feel it is time to turn our attention to the 6'3 205lb. WR Ju'Juan Story. Story will be heading into his second season with the Gators, and will enter this season without any game experience. I look foward to seeing how he looks this Spring. In a pro-style offense, the balance that is Muschamp and Pease's goal can only be acheived through the ability to stretch the field vertically in the Play Action game, which will help weaken the box a little bit. Given his size, and looking at his film from H.S., I feel that he is a much more physical and strong presence than Dunbar was, which should help him to be more effective at defeating press and man-to-man coverage, and help give the Gators a downfield threat that they were lacking last season. If he can provide this, then I believe Coach Pease will be able to return the Gator offense to the top 25 amongst FBS offenses. It is unusual to discuss an offense's success in terms of production from a guy that is so young and yet to see the field, but look for Ju'Juan Story to be the cornerstone to the Gator offense this year.
Please be kind and use good grammar.

Yeah, it’s weird with Dunbar. The guy had a fantastic spring (probably the best on the team), but then he catches 14 passes during the season. Granted, two of them were for touchdowns, but still. I’m right there with you.
As for Story, we’ll see. I don’t really have a whole heck of a lot of confidence in Aubrey Hill’s ability to “coach ’em up” as Spurrier would say. I wouldn’t put a whole lot of faith in that aspect. More like a “hope for the best” kind of thing.

maybe Pease can help Hill
learn the intricacies of coaching WRs.
ECFIVESTER - January 18, 2012
That would be fantastic.

my sentiments exactly
I have been saying that in talking with friends about Pease. I really like old #82(hill), but he has proven to be a bigger asset receiving than coaching. I’m hoping the hire pays dividends in Hill’s career.

Noleforever9399 - January 18, 2012

Gatorbuc15 - January 18, 2012

Noleforever9399 - January 18, 2012

Gatorbuc15 - January 18, 2012
Yeah, that’s a ’rec.
FlaGators - January 18, 2012
Man I hope so
We really need a WR to step up next season.
Gatorbuc15 - January 18, 2012
It's mind boggling that nobody has stepped up as a go-to WR in the past two seasons.
Dunbar, Hammond, Hines, and Debose have all shown flashes at times during that stretch, but none seem to be able to get open consistently. Maybe Pease will do a better job of combining routes to force DB’s into disadvantageous positions?

He's gotta beat out Stephen Alli first
who is 6’5" and actually saw the field last year.
ECFIVESTER - January 18, 2012
I think A.C. Leonard will become yall's go to Receiver @ the TE position
az5950 - January 18, 2012
Possibly. If Hines ever gets his act together…
FlaGators - January 18, 2012
We need QB...
Fabio Broncos - January 18, 2012
Yep. We’ll have one for three solid years, starting next year.
FlaGators - January 18, 2012
That's nice, FG
You know I’m very far from Florida, and it’s never easy to get some news. If I didn’t read the Alligator Army I’d have zero news, actually. So who’ll be our next QB? I can’t blame JB for getting injured, but I think with him in the huddle we could have had a better record….
Fabio Broncos - January 18, 2012
Yeah, if Brantley doesn’t get hurt, we win at least 2 more games (I’m thinking Auburn and the Georgia games).
It’ll either be Driskel or Brissett. To be decided after the spring. Hopefully.
FlaGators - January 18, 2012
I say Driskel.
Gatorbuc15 - January 19, 2012
I don't like Driskel very much
I thought we were scouting more names. Anyway, he is not worse than 90% of the NCAA…
Fabio Broncos - January 19, 2012
But if he’s in the top 10% … isn’t that good enough? That’d be like Chris Leak (roughly).
FlaGators - January 19, 2012
Yes, you're right dude
Maybe I’m too pessimist. I just want another winning season and be a BCS contender again. Driskel might be the name at QB….
Fabio Broncos - January 19, 2012
I hear ya. That’s all I want as well.
