Jeff Demps will pursue Olympics: This was always the sensible thing for Demps, who is a world-class sprinter and merely a good running back. He'll always be one of my favorite Gators. (Scott Carter, GatorZone)
Six Gators in postseason showcases: Florida's tiny senior class has an even smaller contingent headed to the constellation of all-star games. (Rachel George, Swamp Things/Orlando Sentinel)
The perpetual playoff drumbeat continues: One of the world's best sportswriters joins it. (Joe Posnanski)
The Patriots learned from the Gators: I suspect most of you know about the Bill Belichick-Urban Meyer bromance, but it's always nice to remember that Florida once led the football world in innovation. (Judy Battista, The New York Times)
Recapping TebowCenter: As I said to Adam on Twitter: Better you than me! (Adam Silverstein, Only Gators)
It's okay to hate Tim Tebow: It's okay to hate whatever you want, though. (Andrew Sharp, SB Nation)
Lacrosse ready for third season: Could this be the Gators' next national championship team? (GatorZone)

Wegner might be able to go to the pros. Rainey will easily get a specialist spot in the pros.
Green, Thompson, and Brantley? lolNo.

Brantley might. He could get drafted in the 7th round as a project player. I think if he gets a fresh start with someone willing to work with him, he could make a squad somewhere. I mean he knocked out Tebows State TD mark, he was a State Champ, and a National player of the year.
But yeah, agree on Rainey. He will probably be a late rounder to but could potentially be a big steal in the draft.
Our senior class is pretty sad looking.

Brantley? no chance
Many QBs were awesome in high school. Very few of them make it to the NFL.
Regarding LAX – I’m all in. I predict the Gators will hoist the
cuptrophywhatever it is they award in women’s college lacrosse this spring! I read that the Gators signed another stellar class – mostly from Maryland. They are stacked.skigator93 - January 13, 2012
Brantley
may be the first full time QB for us in a long LOOONG time to not even step foot in a NFL stadium. Unless he pays like everyone else. I think the last QB not to at least get picked up by a team was Noah Brindise.

Brantley has a slightly (and I mean slightly) more of a chance to be drafted than I do.
FlaGators - January 13, 2012
Hahahaha!!!
I agree! Not a chance in hell he’s getting drafted!

For Brantley, before the FSU game, I said
well, if he plays great against FSU and plays great for the bowl game, I can see him getting taken in a late round as a potential 3rd stringer or practice squad player, with his playing after the Alabama game being put largely towards his injury suffered from the Alabama game. After he imploded against FSU though, I figured that he was just done. His only shot was to light up Ohio State, parlay that into a couple all star games, and then proceed to light those up too.
But he didn’t, so he won’t. His path to the NFL is nearly nonexistent.

Good decision Jeff
Now bring home the gold!

Brantley's only problem is shattered confidence.
If he had an offensive line that he had any confidence in whatsoever, he would have looked a bit different. When Mullen left for Mississippi State, Florida’s passing game went with him. Tebow threw for over 3,000 yards both seasons that he started with Mullen as the OC if I’m not mistaken. That number plunged to just over 2,000 with Addazio as the OC. Then lose some quality offensive linemen (i.e. Maurkice Pouncey), take away the QB as a threat to run (by inserting Brantley), and your passing game becomes what it was in 2010. Then take away the other Pouncey (and 3 starters on the O-line), completely change the system and protection schemes to a more complex system, and you get 2011. Brantley has the physical tools and some talent. He just never had time in the pocket.

Billy Gonzalez probably shouldn't be overlooked too.
The fact is that when that first Miami (OH) game happened and that ball started flying over his head, and then that year’s entire offense basically systematically destroyed him from the inside out as a QB from a health and mental perspective, it was all too far gone.

Loved the Tebow article.

Yeah, a very obvious decision by Demps. One that we all have known was coming since (as in him running track and not NFL) at least the end of his sophomore year.
