With Florida's 23-13 win over Tennessee, the Gators get the SEC East win they needed and the Vols get a rivalry back. Not only that, Lane Kiffin's best move, hiring Monte Kiffin as defensive coordinator, worked. Florida never went down field, with Urban Meyer stating they didn't hit any "home runs" today on the radio postgame. Singles and getting men on base win games, but Florida is the New York Yankees not the Oakland A's.
Tebow's 14/19 for 115 yards, a pick and fumble will not win any games. Tennessee has a defense far better than expected. I don't think they have the athletes up and down like Florida, but their kids know the scheme. Intelligence will always cover for athleticism. Florida's defense did exactly as expected, handling Tennessee's very good backs.
By the way, this was the least satisfying Gator win of my life. I didn't think we'd cover 30, but more than 10 would have been nice. And our great Twitter protest didn't work as AT&T has zero service in Gainesville. More bars in more places my ass.

This was a bizarre game – you rarely see both teams take the air out of the ball. My impression is that Tenn was happy to walk away with a moral victory, and UF was satisfied to let them, so long as we took the actual victory. Unsatisfying for the fans, definitely, and there are certainly some areas to be concerned about, but at the end the win’s the thing. (Just ask USC fans.)

thank god
Why isnt anyone else pointing this out besides you and I? Tenn had plenty of time in the 4th quarter to come back, but they still ran the ball and at the same time ran themselves out of time. Florida said ok well let you run the ball when were up by 17 with a halk a quarter to go. They had no offense today, thompson being hurt, and demps and hernadez had the flu it clear they told Tebow go run the damn ball.

So you think UT should have turned Crompton loose
and doubled his interception total for the year? The only effective offense was running the ball.

yes
at some point ur coach realized running the ball wasnt going to win him the game, but he still kept running.
ofcourse u will continue u to stick up for Lane, but by next year ull be crying we need a new coach and ill be saying i told u so!

Just consider yourself lucky
you do not have to watch Crompton week-in and week-out as I do.
If you had been watching him, you would realize why Lane could not call on him to throw vertically. We tried that 3 times. The result? 2 picks and an incompletion.
I really do not like all the chirping going on between the two coaches. The SEC is a better place when we have good coaches and good teams.
Yes I will continue to “stick up” for Lane. Fans of programs tend to do that with their coaches. UT is heading in the right direction. Only one way to go when you are on top as the Gators currently are- downward.

either way
its clear that running the ball was the wrong strategy because u still lost. and those pics were all desperate attempts, one was a 3rd and long so it he threw it up there to go for a first, the second pick he had no other choice, the game was almost over, he had to throw the ball and hope somthing happend.

Lol about the AT&T comment
I think Tebow made NFl draft experts see his flaws more than his strengths and they saw Eric Berry’s Strengths more than his pros. I think this was an sad game, almost unbearable to watch, I thought we’d beat them around 20, feels liek a loss more than win. I hope recruiting gets a boost of any kind from this win.

Scary.
I hope this wakes the Gators up for bigger challenges down the road. How good does LSU’s cross-country, playing-through-midnight win at Washington look now? What about an even better Alabama in this year’s SEC CHampionship Game? And to think, Kiffin and Company will soon have the recruits to go along with their scheming. Not a good weekend for the Gators…
