Andre Debose's signing started the day, but the coup is LB Jelani Jenkins, a five-star from DC. Jenkins is 6-1, 210 lbs, so a year behind UF's stacked defense will do him some good. If he doesn't get big enough, he could be a decapitation machine like Reg Nelson or The Major Wright. But, when you take a kid like Jenkins and put him in a D-1 strength program, he will be carrying atlas stones by August.
The one place where Florida lacked depth was at quarterback, and they seemed to have solved that with Connecticut's Jordan Reed. There could also be almost a half dozen offensive linemen signed today as well, another area where UF can use reinforcements. In terms of guys dropping, Pahokee WR Nu'Keese Richardson has been a long term verbal, but Tennessee has been whispering sweet nothings in his ear long enough that Richardson flipping would not be a surprise.
Here's Jenkins breaking some faces in DC.
[UPDATE]: The Orlando Sentinel's Jeremy Fowler relays a story from Tennessee that Richardson will be joined by Marsalis Teague, another assumed Gator signee. Remember, this is to be expected when you return nearly all of your National Championship winning team. Most kids want to play immediately. Speaking of kids, did you know that Jelani Jenkins is SIXTEEN! Also, he's more of a Maryland than DC guy, but the Metro DC area plays ball at a surprisingly high level, so he'll be alright. If you want to hear Urban's 1pm presser, we suggest our former employer WRUF AM850, which is free. You have to pay for Gatorzone.
[UPDATE]: It looks like Orson Charles is the only question mark left for UF. He is expected to announce later. Charles was also the guy who broke the 2006 crystal ball.

Wow!
By the more relevant measure of Average Rating, we’re now #1 on Rivals and #3 on Scout. It’s tough to get the quantity necessary to rank highly in the Total Tallies, but the quality is certainly there. I can’t wait to see Major Wright and Will Hill terrorizing Nu’Keese Richardson over the middle next year!
