Post any thoughts you have regarding this game here, or just general excitement that is due to the beginning of the college football season.
Obviously we are all excited, not only because of the start of our favorite thing - but because the Ole' Ball Coach is coachin' up the 'Cocks tonight against Miss. St. I thoroughly enjoy watching any team that Spurrier is coaching, but that's just me.
I'm glad it's here and I can't wait until Saturday evening.

Mitchell
Blake Mitchell is terrible.Okay, maybe I'm overstating it a bit but that interception on the game's first play was lousy. Unacceptable for a quarterback in his second year in the Ol' Ball Coach's offense.

MSU
They look much improved. But it is early now. SOS in glasses. That's a first.David Bloom - August 31, 2006
State defense
The State defense definitely looks to be much more aggressive than in years past. It could be a pretty tough unit. They've got Spurrier on the verge of throwing his visor to the ground in anger.Cola

Typical...
sloppiness in the first game. Both these teams aren't impressing...although we weren't expecting much out of Miss St to begin with.

As of right now...
the 'Cocks kicker is the MVP. Something you wouldn't expect here.FLATigersFan - August 31, 2006
State defense
Can't help but feel sorry for the MSU defense. They're playing fantastic ball.Cola

Great play-call
Great call by Spurrier to utilize Newton's passing skills. That was a beautiful play to essentially put an end to this game.Cola

Great...
Awesome trick play. Love it.it's now 15-0 and doesn't look like MSU will come back in this one. The SC defense looks pretty quick and is tackling pretty well.
BTW, Central Michigan nearly upset Boston College.

UTEP-SDSU
I'm starting to watch a bit of the UTEP-San Diego State game on CSTV. I thought about driving down for the game (I live in LA) but decided I was too lazy to do so. Mike Price has turned UTEP around and I'm definitely interested in seeing Jordan Palmer.Cola
